![]() « Congratulations To All The Graduates Of The Class Of 2005. | WILLisms.com | More On The E.U. Referenda. » Girl Power!Girls will one day rule this world. There's very little doubt of that. At my little sister's high school graduation today, girls ruled the top honors. Well, mostly. Both the valedictorian and the salutatorian were guys; so was the fifth ranked graduate. But girls earned 7 of the top 10 spots. Of the remaining 43 "High Honor Graduates," 28 were female, while only 15 were male. Of the next 112 "Honor Graduates," 71 were female, while only 41 were male. So, girls just plain ruled the school: TOP TEN- ALL "HIGH HONOR" GRADS- NON-TOP-TEN "HIGH HONOR" GRADS- "HONOR" GRADS- ...and this same scenario is playing out in high schools across the country. And, just for reference, of the top 10 (it's a suburban Houston school): Girl Power! Posted by Will Franklin · 28 May 2005 08:40 PM CommentsI am woman hear me roar with numbers too big to ignore... We have come a long way baby! I hope soon other women in other countries will gain freedom and democracy! Women as well as men have so much to offer together. When it comes down to it, we can not exist without one another...God Bless our World and the entire human race! Posted by: Zsa Zsa at May 28, 2005 09:13 PM If we can make as much as men it would be nice! I don't know what the statistics are today compared to a few years ago? I would think it has gotten closer. Posted by: Della L. at May 28, 2005 09:34 PM I can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan! And never let you forget you are a man!...HA! Posted by: Cindy T. at May 28, 2005 09:48 PM Yeah, out of my high school top 10 when I graduated I think there were only 3 guys. It was the validictorian, myself, and a friend of mine. At UT, the Liberal Arts Honors program is girl heavy, but it's morelike 55-45. However the Government Honors Program this past year was guy dominated (10 out of 15). Posted by: Ian Pittman at May 29, 2005 12:44 AM Some people like to call it class!... Posted by: Zsa Zsa at May 29, 2005 07:24 AM One day we will rule the world! Total domination over all men! Posted by: crazy woman at May 29, 2005 05:00 PM I wonder if it's cooler and more OK to be and be seen to be smart among girls than boys. Teens are generally more than willing, they're eager to be what they want each other to be. Posted by: Brian H at May 29, 2005 05:01 PM |
