Trivia Tidbit Of The Day: Part 266 -- The Most Popular Dog Breeds.

According to The American Kennel Club, Weimaraners rank #29 out of officially-registered purebreeds:

For the 16th consecutive year, the Labrador Retriever is the most popular purebred dog in America, according to AKC® registration figures released today. The Golden Retriever held onto the number two spot and the Yorkshire Terrier made significant gains — beating the German Shepherd Dog and Beagle — to become the third most popular dog in the country.

Interestingly, the Taco Bell advertisement has finally worn off, but small dogs are "in" right now:

The Miniature Schnauzer, which hasn't been in the "Top 10" since 1990, wags its way into 10th place this year, displacing the popular Chihuahua, which drops to 11th place.
The trend in small dogs continues to be evident with increases in the following breeds over the past 10 years — Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (735%), French Bulldog (305%), Brussels Griffon (231%) and Papillon (132%).

The most common breed, of course, is the glorious and awesome mutt. Interestingly, there are just shy of 1 million AKC-registered purebreed dogs in the country. Out of the many, many tens of millions of dogs out there, 1 million registered purebreeds is very small.

Thanks. The one I had had since 7th grade finally bonked out suddenly, so we figured we might as well buy the new technology instead of having an obsolete-but-relatively-new TV in a few years. 42" digital plasma HD. Panasonic. It's #1 according to Consumer Reports.

It actually makes the Olympics watchable, if only just for the beautiful high definition scenery.

Yeah Rob but the warming glow of the TV overshadowed everything else.

Somehow I doubt WunderWife will let me get a TV like that. Something about her God awful 1950's kitchen needing to be re-modeled, so help me God....

We hope to remodel our kitchen, too... someday. Granite countertops, maybe. New appliances (we already have a new fridge, though), and a new sink/faucet thing. And new backsplash. But it may be a while before we do that. There are lots of little projects when you move into a new home, so the big projects seem to be put off indefinitely.

At Target, we got some puppy stuff. PetSmart closed at 7 PM on Sunday evening, so we went there for food, a blanket, and some other puppy-related items.

I should post more pics with random details.

How much did the pup cost? My roommate in college had a Weimaraner. Every time I would go to his house, the size of the dog would intimidate me, but he was nothing more than a gentle giant. I swear I thought the damn thing was human.
