« Propaganda: Your Job In And Now A Shia Awakening, Too?Fortunately for the coalition forces in Iraq, al-Qaeda is just as adept at shooting themselves in the foot as killing innocent people. The assassination of Anbar tribal leader Risha has backfired on al-Qaeda big time, and now may even become a rallying point for Shi-ite leaders in their fight against terrorists: Sheik Majid Tahir al-Magsousi, the leader of the Migasees tribe here in Wasit province, acknowledged tribal leaders have discussed creating a brigade of young men trained by the Americans to bolster local security as well as help patrol the border with Iran. Posted by Ken McCracken · 15 September 2007 03:36 PM CommentsIt's been 4 and half years. you aren't going to get any optimism from me about iraq. It's like charlie Brown trying to kick the football. whatever this is it will never last. I long ago lost hope. bring em home Posted by: lester at September 15, 2007 05:29 PM Thank you for that in depth, on-the-spot account of the war, lester. It can't be repeated often enough: Whether people feel tired should be absolutely irrelevant to our decisions. The American people would feel tired after three years regardless of how things were going. It is not a signal of anything. Posted by: Assistant Village Idiot at September 17, 2007 02:40 PM in case you forgot, the american people are the ones PAYING for the war. it's our war. if we are tired of it it should end. We are america, the beltway is not Posted by: lester at September 18, 2007 04:57 PM |
